(Criminal Dispute)

  1. Date of Compromise: 13 September 2026
  2. CASE DETAILS
    1. Court: – Court No. 04, West JM, 1st Class, Muzaffarpur
    2. Police Station Case:– Sahebganj P.S. Case No. 150/2019
    3. R. No.: 1211/2019
  1. DETAILS OF THE PARTIES
    1. Complainant/Informant Name: xxxxxxxx
      Husband’s Name: xxxxxxxx
Address: Village xxxxxxxx, P.S. Sahebganj, District Muzaffarpur, Bihar
    2. Accused Persons Xxxxxxx @ xxxxxxxx and 05 Others
All are residents of Village xxxxxx, P.S. Sahebganj, District Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
  2. BACKGROUND OF THE CASE
The parties involved in the present matter are neighbours and residents of the same village. The alleged incident took place in the year 2019.
As stated in the FIR, the informant was plucking leaves from a plant for feeding her goat. During this time, her son came to the spot, following which a dispute arose between the parties. It was alleged that the accused persons assaulted the informant’s son.
Following the incident, the informant lodged a case at Sahebganj Police Station, which was registered as Sahebganj P.S. Case No. 150/2019, corresponding to G.R. No. 1211/2019.
  3. STATUS OF THE MATTER
During the pendency of the case, two, out of the six accused persons died. The remaining four accused persons continued to face trial in the matter.
As the dispute had continued for several years, the accused persons approached Dispute-Eater, an initiative of Ram Yatan Sharma Memorial Trust, Muzaffarpur, with a request for assistance in facilitating communication and reconciliation between the parties.
  4. INTERVENTION BY DISPUTE-EATER
The primary objective of the intervention was to establish communication between the parties and facilitate a peaceful resolution of the underlying dispute.
The team of Dispute Eater firstly decided to meet a co-villager of the Informant and with the assistance of a local villager; the Dispute-Eater team contacted the informant and requested her to participate in a counselling session at the office of the Dispute-Eater.
The informant expressed her willingness to participate in the process but preferred to meet at the court premises rather than at the office of the Dispute-Eater.
Respecting her preference, the parties were brought together at the court premises, where a counselling session was conducted.
  5. COUNSELLING AND SETTLEMENT
During the counselling session, both sides were given an opportunity to communicate their concerns and discuss the matter in a peaceful environment.
After discussion and counselling, both parties expressed their willingness to resolve the dispute amicably.
The parties thereafter agreed to place their compromise before the competent court in accordance with law.
The intervention of Dispute-Eater helped facilitate communication between the parties and create an opportunity for an amicable resolution of the dispute.
  6. OUTCOME
As a result of the counselling and reconciliation process, the parties agreed to enter into a compromise and to take appropriate steps before the concerned court.
The long-standing dispute between the parties was therefore brought to an amicable resolution through the intervention and facilitation of Dispute-Eater.
This case represents an effort towards promoting peaceful communication, reconciliation, and community-based resolution of disputes.
  7. CONCLUSION
The Dispute-Eater initiative, operated by Ram Yatan Sharma Memorial Trust, Muzaffarpur, facilitated communication and counselling between the parties in the above-mentioned matter.
The parties, after discussion and counselling, voluntarily agreed to resolve their dispute amicably and to place the compromise before the competent court. In this way the dispute between the parties came to a “Full-Stop”.
